9 The quick edit

For a site owner who does all their own editing, there is a quick keyboard-driven process.

Smallsite Design provides a lot of keyboard shortcuts, but for quick fix of a type or some dubious grammar~for a single locale site, this process centres around using the Enter | return and Tab keys and the Alt | option+Shift+@ shortcut key combo, with the latter doing most of the heavy lifting.

The steps show the keys to press and the resulting page name.

To do a quick edit:

1.Navigate to the page to be edited.
2.Press the Alt | option+Shift+\ keys. Log in.
3.Type in your ID and press the Enter | return key. Log in.
4.Type in your Password and press the Enter | return key. Work list.
5.Press the Enter | return key. Article head.
6.Press the Alt | option+Shift+@ keys. History.
7.Press the Tab then the Enter | return keys. History.
8.Press the Enter | return key. Article body.
9.Do the required edits.
10.Press the Alt | option+Shift+@ keys. History.
11.Press the Alt | option+Shift+@ keys. History.
12.Press the Alt | option+Shift+@ keys. History.
13.Press the Alt | option+Shift+@ keys. History.
14.To get rid of the last release, press the Alt | option+Shift+# keys. History.

The article is updated and it probably took less than a minute, depending upon the edits done.
