6. Set up a banner

The master manager can set up the banner for a subsite.

If no banner has ever been defined, always start with the main subsite-master locale combination.

This procedure is intended to be performed by: Master manager.

To setup a banner:

1Open the Subsite summaries view of the Banners page

by either:

  1. a.Clicking on the Banners button in the Access section of the Work list page.
  2. b.Clicking on the Banners button in the Other row of the Details section of any Subsite page.

The page is displayed.

2Select a subsite-locale combination

by clicking on a locale for a subsite.

If there is a trial banner:

  1. a.The banner is shown at the top of the page as it would appear for the subsite and locale if committed.
  2. b.The Actions table has Reset and Commit rows.
  3. c.The Subsite and Locale sections contain the trial values.

otherwise, if there is a committed banner:

  1. a.The banner is shown at the top of the page as it is for the subsite and locale.
  2. b.The Actions table only has the Status row.
  3. c.The Subsite and Locale sections contain the committed values.

otherwise:

  1. a.There is no banner at the top.
  2. b.The Status is Disabled.
  3. c.The Subsite section has blank text fields and default selections.
  4. d.The Locale sections contain the committed values.

3Modify banner parameters

by adding text and values, taking into consideration the banner Design approach.

4Optionally, start again

by resetting all text and values to the currently committed values, by:

  1. a.Clicking the Reset checkbox in the Reset row of the Actions table.
  2. b.Clicking the newly shown Reset checkbox.
  3. c.Clicking the newly shown Confirm button.

The page is redisplayed as per the list for committed values in the response for step 2.

5Apply the trial values

by committing all text and values to be the new current values, by:

  1. a.Clicking the Commit checkbox in the Commit row of the Actions table.
  2. b.Clicking the newly shown Reset checkbox.
  3. c.Clicking the newly shown Confirm button.

The response is:

  1. a.The values are applied immediately.
  2. b.The page is redisplayed as per the list for committed values in the response for step 2.

6Enable the banner

by clicking the Disabled button in the Status row of the Actions table.

The response is:

  1. a.The banner is shown on any subsequent page accesses.
  2. b.The page is redisplayed with a Status of Enabled.
