Transfer a license

A license can be used for another domain name if the current one no longer represents the current content.

This can only be done by transferring the content to another server that hosts the new domain. However, the license will need to temporarily have both the old and new domain registered with it while that is done. After the 24 hours grace period for this expires, the old domain is deregistered from the license, the old site is completely deleted, and all future requests redirected to the new domain with the same paths.

To transfer the domain registered with a license:

1Setup the new site with the new domain

by performing the steps of Overall setup procedure as required for a new site.

The new site will be a basic new Smallsite Design site with rudimentary content.

2Initiate the transfer

by performing:

2-1Log in to the site

2-2Go to the Site page

by clicking on the Site jump in the final list item of the Access section of the Work list page.

2-3Show the fields

by clicking on the 👇 checkbox.

2-4Provide field values

by typing in the new domain URL and cutting-and-pasting the license from the email from the seller.

2-5Confirm the transfer

by:

1. 1.Clicking on the Submit checkbox.
2. 2.Clicking on the resulting Submit checkbox.
3. 3.Clicking on the resulting Confirm button.

3Download the content archive file

by clicking the Download link under the table in the Details section.

4Overwrite the site

🗁︎

for the target site with the new domain using the downloaded archive.
