4. Create add-on domain

If following the recommendation to use one domain for the hosting account and another for actually hosting your site, an add-on domain is required.

An add-on domain is similar to a subdomain for setting it up, but while a subdomain is accessed by prefixing the domain with the subdomain separated by a ., an add-on domain is for a separate domain, and so is accessed using that domain. Note that it can also be accessed by prefixing the hosting domain name with the add-on domain name, without the top-level domain suffix, just like a subdomain. In this case, Smallsite Design will redirect to use the add-on domain name on its own.
